Okay now this is just plain fun!! Everytime I think MomCentral has sent me something way cool they top it with something even better! This time they invited me to be a part of their blog tour for My Fruit Roll-ups personalized fruit roll-up snacks. I'm sure everyone knows what Fruit Roll-ups are but what makes these so cool is that you can personalize them making unique and cool gifts to give someone special. How fun is that?
One box (which includes 30 snacks) of personalized fruit roll-ups with any message you want on it is $29.99 plus s&h which might sound pricey but if you're looking for a unique way to say something to that special someone, then I think it's a fair deal. Something as unique and fun as say, asking that special someone to marry you maybe? Or what about telling your family that you're expecting a baby with one of the roll-ups? There are so many scenarios you could come up with!
I personalized my box with an image that said "You So Rock!", the message "Luv My Heathens!!", and then another image of a T-Rex (because my youngest LOVES dinosaurs). They even let me choose the color those things will be on the roll-ups! I'll be giving these to.. who else but my three heathens for Valentine's Day. Every year I get them something and this year is going to be so cool thanks to these fruit roll-ups!
While I wait for my box of personalized fruit roll-ups to arrive,
the people at
MyFruitRollups.com have been kind enough to give
THREE of my readers a
FREE box of 30 personalized fruit roll-up snacks of their own! That's right, you personalize them however you want and give them as gifts for Valentine's Day, birthday party favors, scout troop goodies, or whatever you choose!!
Now in order to be one of the three lucky winners it is going to take a tiny bit of effort on your part. What's that you ask? Well, all you really need to do is tell me about the sweetest Valentine's message that you have ever sent or received. Yep, that's it! That is so easy I will honestly be mad if everyone doesn't enter.
I've decided that you can send your message one of three ways-
1) Leave your story as a comment on this post along with your first name and email address.
2) Email me your story if you prefer and be sure to include your first name (please send entries to the email address you see in the left sidebar on this blog).
3) Post your story on your own blog with a link back here and then leave me the URL as either a comment or email. Anyone who picks this choice will get "Link Love" with a link back to the post and their blog on February 13th and 14th whether you win or not!
On January 31st, the heathens and I will choose winners from our three favorite stories. I will then post the three winning stories on my Life With Heathens blog the day before Valentine's Day so everyone can read them. *smile*
For anyone who doesn't win,
My Fruit Roll-ups is still offering my readers $10 off your order making them only $19.99+ shipping by using the code:
BEMINE. If you want to receive them by Valentine's Day though you will need to place your order by
February 2nd, 2008. So no dawdling people, hurry it up!!
Good luck to everyone and I hope lots tons of people enter because I would love to hear your stories. On Valentine's Day I plan on posting the story of how my husband proposed to me on Valentine's Day 2001. It's a truly awesome story and the memory is so beautiful. Something I will forever cherish.

My husband framed a large photo booth sketch of our 4 kids and had them sign the border. I absolutely treasure it.
When my hubby was in Iraq the second time he sent me a message in a bottle. This was especially sweet as he is NOT the romantic type and normally tries skipping this day. Yes, I said skipping, he says it is only commericial and would rather celebrate it the week after or the week before. Punk right? Anyways, I was so excited to get this bottle. He knows I'm a big fan of the movie and inside the beautiful bottle was a little message on scroll paper that told me how much he loved and missed me, ended it with the words, "I love you, Happy Valentine's Day."
My husband sent me one of those message in a bottle things when we were apart, too, and I sent him a card, but what was funny was that the card I sent was soooo similar to the poem he WROTE for me!
My entry, though, is what I did for my husband a couple of years ago.
I took a heart shaped box of candy and took all the candy out of the little papers. I cut out enough hearts out of 3 colors of paper to fill the candy spots. I then wrote in them, red hearts things I love about him, yellow hearts things I respect about him, and blue hearts coupons for freebies, like playing computer without me nagging him to death or shooting daggers at him for ignoring me.
He loved it! And the kids and I loved eating the candy!
I was in a long distance relationship for 4 years. There are 2 things I did that stand out in my mind.
1st, I wrote a lovely poem about how I feel and how much I miss him. I wrote it out all pretty on very nice paper and lamenated it. I cut it up into puzzle pieces and mailed one piece every 3 days and the last thing I mailed was a frame to put them in.
2nd, I got a small wooden box and lined it with tissue paper. I then filled the box full of the little tabs from hershey kisses and hugs so it was full of little papers that say "kisses" and "hugs". I wrote a short poem saying how I miss his hugs and kisses. On one of my trips to see him, I left it behind for him to find.

Dh and I had been dating long distance for about 6 months, and I went out and bought a bag each of large and small Sweethearts candies. I carefully went through each bag, pulling out the messages I wanted to work with and then I "wrote" a letter with the candy filling in the various messages in between my writing. I sent it to him at work, so everyone could see it. He was embarrassed, but also proud. This coming Valentine's Day is our 15th one together! <3
My Valentine's Day story is this:
February 15 2003, my then fiancee put me it the car and told me that we were just 'going out' We both worked the day before so we were celebrating V-Day. Less than 30 minutes later we were involved in a nasty car accident! Car didn't survive but we did. Medics were asking me all kinds of questions and I couldn't answer because the one question was 'Where were you going?' I kept saying 'I don't know' The medics were very concerned with my lack of rememberance when all of a sudden my fiancee says 'No, really she doesn't know where she was going, I hadn't told her yet'
Phewww... they were relieved.
He was taking me to Rainforest Cafe to propose to me!!!
That was put on hold until we got a new car. 6 weeks later,April 2003) I was in a fatal accident (yes, I died at the scene) But, with the grace of GOD and my honey by my side, I survived that one too.
February 14, 2004 we became husband and wife. We tell everyone we started off our engagement with a BANG!
When I was elementary fruit rollups became a big craze, so this sounds like a wonderful idea to me. Add in the fact my boyfriend and I are both health nuts, and this is way better than candy.
What an awesome contest, Jo. I'm a scrooge when it comes to Valentine's Day though. We pretty much don't bother doing much of anything, so maybe I'll make something up to enter your contest. Uh oh. Did I just say that out loud?
This is more a story than message. My sophomore year in college my apartment complex was having a Valentine's Dance. This one girl who lived in the complex mentioned it offhandedly to a coworker named Terry. She uncharacteristically invited herself to the dance. Meanwhile I was resolving to be more outgoing like my friend Chris who was regaling us with a tale of how he took two girls out on the same date.
My wingman John was supposed to go to the dance with me, but he stood me up with the phrase..."Know watch, you'll meet your wife tonight."
During the dance I noticed a cute short brunette. So, when I noticed her on the sideline of a *shudder* line dance, I walked up to her and used my best pick up line, "So, you don't like country music either?"
Oops, she did, but we struck up a conversation and had a dance or two together. Then after the dance she stuck around while her co-worker went back to her apartment, hoping to talk to me. So, without the confidence of my wingman and only the inspiration of Chris the multiple dater, I tried to get up the nerve to go talk to her again. I did.
Terry and I got married 6 months 4 days later.
I have been thinking for a week about a great V-day story and simply cannot come up with one. Isn't that sad? Valentines day has been just another day for the whole 9 years we've been married mostly because we never have any money. We also make a considerable effort to be affectionate and aprreciative of each other every day making V-day less important. I really love my husband, trials and tribulations of marriage and life and all. My kids sure would love those fruit roll ups though. Now that would be a Valentines story to remember, lol.
Happy V-day to everyone!
I am very much far away from my girlfriend , but i will send her some choclates, roses and lots of love.
