Will Sweat For Comments!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Okay so maybe I won't actually agree to sweat but I will agree to exercise. Thanks to Elizabeth at Table4Five, I found this great idea of exercising for comments and have decided it's just what I need. Moving my fat ass has never been one of the top things to do on my list even but I know it's something I really need to do. I need more exercise to combat some of the pain and I'd really love to lose at least a few pounds.

So here is where YOU come in. For every comment you make on this blog (any post past, present, or future) I will do one minute's worth of exercising up to 45 minutes per day. I'd go a whole 60 per day but I'm not going to push it just yet.

The way it will work is if you comment on one of my posts (with more than just "Hi Jo" please) then I will owe you one minute of exercise. There is no limit on how many comments you can make so enjoy going back through my archives and getting to know me a little better. I will compile the time up to 315 minutes for the entire week and work off what I owe as the week progresses.

I will post the total number of minutes I owe for the week each day plus how many minutes I've already completed. So it will look like this...

Jo Owes Her Readers ___ Minutes Of Exercise This Week.

She Has Completed ____ Minutes So Far This Week.

So how badly do you want to make Jo move her ass? I guess we'll find out right?

I can't believe I am really the first! Jo, that is a nice idea. Too bad I am too lazy. Mmm. Cheeseburgers.

Hmm, This would be a great idea 'cause I just got the 'the some more exercise' from my doctor.

Now does each comment count only once, or if someone leaves you a book does it count for more?

hehe, Okay you've got a minute. Love the idea, wish I had thought of this one. :) BTW- still no soda. :)

Get that cardio rate going! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! *twirls bra in air*

I am way behind on my minutes thanks to Kaitlyn being sick, so here's a minute for you, and I'll add my minutes up and get moving :)

Nikki said...

LOL... ok I haven't commented in awhile but I will do whatever it takes to get you to move your ass. Hell, I might be inspired to work.... um... half as long as you do! LOL

Given your health issues exercise is extremely important for you, any exercise that gets oxygen pumping and surging through your tissues is good. Tumors are very sensitive to oxygen, flood your body with oxygen and you will help contribute to he factors that guard you again them. There is a very good book by Ed McCabe called 'Flood Your Body With Oxygen' in fact.

Good for you for more exercising!! It will make such a difference!

Also wanted to thank you for entering the giveaway on my site. Please help spread the word this week!

I'll draw a winner on Saturday evening. Thanks again and good luck!

David- mmmmm Jo like cheeseburgers!

Meg- Each comment counts as one minute I believe so even if you write a book it's only one. :)

Eliza- You're going to keep rubbing the no soda thing in aren't you? Evil evil woman!! :p

Jessie- thanks!

Kat- so are you trying to tell me that if I exercise you will get nekkie? Hmmmmm, this could become interesting! Woohoooooo. LMFAO

Elizabeth- thank you for posting about this first because I never would have come across it otherwise.

NiKki- half as long? Biotch you bettah move that ass just as long! *snort*

Judith- thanks for the comment and for the book suggestion. I greedily take any book suggestion given and check into it. It soothes the bibliofreak in me. lol

Patriot- I love the concept for your blog and will be back repeatedly! There are alot of great companies here at home that people never even bother looking into which is sad.

Thank you everyone for the comments. Just from this alone I owe you 9 minutes so far. I think I also got a comment at Maya Mom so that makes a full 10 minutes the very first day!

Meg_L said...

I don't think 9 mins. is nearly enough. Come on Girl, move it!

eden said...

Oh no-I'll feel bad making you work-out for another minute. Sweating is just icky :p Hopefully you're doing something you enjoy doing for the exercise.
Re the comment you had left for me about penpals- that sounds like a great idea. Has your son ever done a flat traveler exchange?

Absolutely ... I want to make you move your ass. (Though there is no guarantee I'll move my own). You rock, Jo!

Ooooo girl, get to steppin'! I'd join you but I can't. :D I have good reasons! First, it is chilly cold outside, and if I go for a brisk walk, my lungs will fill and I'll need my inhaler. Except I need a new one. And I don't have a doctor here yet.

So.. do you work out with music? What do you listen to?

Cracking the whip, go, JO, go!

What an excellent idea.

What kind of exercise will you do? I have 20 Richard Simmons tapes, I could give you one. lol He can get you going: If you love him, it's fun. If you hate him, you'll make it go fast because you want his tape done and over with.

Oh my god. Jo, this is beyond awesome. You are SOOOO in trouble. You are gonna be beyond sick of seeing my comments on here. Bwahahahhahaha! I'm gonna start filibustering I think...

I think beyond posting the minutes, you should get a fat ass graphic that shrinks over time as you exercise more! :D

Andrew said...

By the way, Jo, solely for the purpose of pissing you off, I just tagged you to go back to school

haw haw. So now you've been tagged AND that's another minute on the treadmill! bwahahahaha

Meg_L said...

So, did you notice my post?

Move that Ass!

Meg_L said...

Now wait a moment. You can't really be ahead of the number of comments on here?

Doesn't work that way Girl. Extra is fine, but you can't store up minutes ahead of getting assigned them. Na-huh.

So you still need to move that butt for my comment.

Kate said...

Am I too late to get you up to 28 minutes for today?

Kim said...

Its a good plan. I won't spread the word too far or post about it online, but I will say you should imagine this comment daily so you get that extra minute in.

Nicole said...

What a fabulous idea!! I think it would be fun to participate but this month is not good. :D

*snicker* I'm sure you will get some new comments soon to help you along.

Wow, what an awesome idea!! Hope you are feeling good when you get this minute!! You are such an inspiration, you inspired me to stop drinking soda too when you did your challenge earlier, and although I still have one sometimes when I'm out, I haven't had any at home in almost a whole month. I love your exercise idea too, but I don't get enough comments on my blog to be worth it. Maybe for emails, I get lots of those.

Good luck!!

samira said...

Hehe, funny idea! I hope they don't torture you too much... Anyways, good luck with that! :)

Thank you everyone for the comments, it makes this alot of fun and I would recommend doing this to any of you. It's one thing know you have to exercise and hate it but it's another to know you owe people minutes for their comments and race them to finish by Sunday night so you can start all over again. LOL.

Kim- you are an evil woman! lmao

Wendy said...

This is a great idea! I'd do it, but I don't think I get enough comments to make it worth it. Did the number of comments you get go up after posting this?

What kind of exercise are you doing? My favorite (because it makes me feel wonderful, both physically and mentally) is yoga, but I go for walks too.

amybrown said...

what an awesome idea Jo! Good luck, I hope you get tons of comments and lose tons of weight :)

Hahaha, there's an interesting way to get motivated. Perhaps the most important exercise is to change the way you think about exercising. Instead of thinking of health and fitness as a chore, make it fun and exciting. Focus on the benefits.

Another thing to remember is that you can get more benefit from 15 or 20 minutes a day of interval training than 40 minutes or more of straight cardio. It will boost your metabolism and cause your body to burn fat much more efficiently.
